What is DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA?
Now in our 10th Annual Year! The ultimate trip back in time to the grand old days of drive-in cinema is back! DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA is two nights of classic horror 35mm screenings presented at an authentic, hospitable drive-in movie theater. There will be two big shows on two consecutive nights which will start at dusk and go on until really late into the night! This is the tenth year in a row that we are hosting such an event, so we encourage drive-in movie fanatics from all parts of the country to come out and experience something you'll never forget! What could be better than a weekend getaway topped off with two nights of classic monster movies on the big outdoor screen?
We realize that everything is so expensive these days, but admission is (still) only $10 a person each night! Plus, children 12 and under are free with parent or adult guardian (parental guidance is of course recommended, but this is in case you want to put the little tykes to sleep in the backseat instead of hiring a babysitter). How can you beat that? The Riverside's concession stand is loaded with reasonably priced goodies that patrons continue to rave about, including hot foods, hot and cold drinks, candy, popcorn and much, much more! Their concession stand always gets compliments, and it's one of the things that keeps fans of this event wanting to come back for more year after year.
We guarantee that this will most likely be your only chance to see so many of these type of films on the drive-in screen all in one big weekend, so plan your vacation now! You won't be sorry!
What is being shown and when?
On Friday, September 9, (Spanish Horror Night) the features will be HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES, NIGHT OF THE HOWLING BEAST, HOUSE OF PSYCHOTIC WOMEN and CURSE OF THE DEVIL.
On Saturday, September 10 the features will be HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS, NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS, THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD and THE BAT PEOPLE.
Each night we will also present an array of vintage exploitation and monster movies trailers in between the features which we know you will just love! We'll also have cartoons, classic concession stand adverts, and a few surprise short comedy subjects!
Where is the theater?
DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA will be held at the Riverside Drive-In Theatre in Vandergrift, PA. For the dates of September 9 and 10, the theater will devote its screen exclusively to these special nights of vintage entertainment. The actual driving location of the theater reads as: Riverside Drive In Theatre, Route 66 N, Vandergrift, PA 15690. If you put that information as your destination on Mapquest, you can easily access directions from your starting location. If you are using a GPS navigational system, put your destination in as 2780 River Road, Vandergrift, PA 15690. Accommodations and Overnight Camping
Since DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA is a big weekend event, and The Riverside Drive-In is again offering the choice of camping at the Drive-In on Friday and Saturday night. The price is only $10.00 per person/per night. The price for camping is separate from the admission price. With this we offer breakfast and use of the restrooms all night long. Special Guest Vendor: CREEPY CLASSICS
Once again, Ron Adams and our friends and supporters from Creepy Classics and Monster Bash will be set up with tables inside the concession stand on both nights. They'll be selling 100's of DVDs, monster books, monster magazines, monster posters, monster shirts, monster toys and more. Please be sure to pay them more than a few friendly visits!
